Does Burger King hate Football?

03rd August

The creators of the burger “king”, ad agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky, have defined success as getting an ad talked about rather than admired and awarded. By this criteria, Burger King’s shirt sponsorship for Spanish club Getafe scores. Yet what probably looked like a fun idea in a presentation (branding the shirt over the head celebration) would surely take the joy out of any Getafe goal for the club’s supporters. There are some occasions when we simply don’t want to see branding, and any advertising presence is intrusive rather than persuasive. Still, this will certainly get football fans talking (or moaning).
